This contemporary kitchen in McAllen, Texas, was designed by Mary King of Signature Kitchens and Bath of McAllen with both form and function in mind. Because the homeowner loves to entertain and prepare gourmet meals, it was important that this kitchen was accommodating to her varying needs. The focal point is her large island, giving her plenty of area to prepare her special meals for her family and friends. This large kitchen gave her the ability to have an extensive appliance suite, as well as creative storage solutions.
To meet all her needs, the design team incorporated pullout cabinetry, a Magic Corner cabinet and a special cabinet for her Miele coffee machine. A KitchenAid double-drawer dishwasher ensures all the tableware will be clean at once, no matter what size the gathering! Pendant lighting gives the space a peaceful quality, illuminating the room beautifully.
To give the kitchen a unique appearance, the design team contrasted beautiful white Thermofoil cabinetry with an espresso quarter-sawn oak cabinetry on the island. Quartz countertops add another element of functional elegance. A custom nook area provides additional counter space next to her breakfast table. The kitchen is now her favorite part of her new home.
